Finding Our Way

This week I’ve been talking to several women who have enrolled in Chrysalis and the common theme that comes up in every conversation is knowing that one is due for some change but not knowing HOW to go about creating it. If only personal growth came with a GPS system that would tell us where to turn and how much farther we needed to go (I would want mine to have an Australian accent like my friend Amy’s does). What I have realized along my own journey and by having the privilege of supporting others in theirs, is that the challenges that come with feeling lost eventually direct us toward a more life enhancing route if we’re willing to face them. It is almost a necessity to feel lost so that when we do find our way, there is a distinction.

Today I’m inspired to share an UPlifting message I received from one of my daily readings that gets to the heart of finding our way:

“We say we want to know ourselves, but when it comes to the actual process of putting our attention into self-knowledge and confronting our habits, we often run out of steam. Yet if it weren’t possible to transform, I wouldn’t be teaching how to do it. Inner growth and change are definitely possible; many have done it, and it doesn’t require a big bank account, a long training course, or special equipment. It requires something much more valuable: consistent application.

I’m not suggesting that transformation is easy. Even the butterfly breaking from the cocoon struggles into its beauty. I don’t look at struggle as a negative, however, but as a stretching and opening process.

The greatest ballet dancers in the world return to the barre every day, throughout their careers. They join all the other dancers in the troupe in the basic exercises. It’s the same with the great basketball players, constantly practicing shooting hoops. Over and over, the same moves. In the very ordinariness of that repetition lie the seeds of greatness.”
– John-Roger with Paul Kaye (From: What’s It Like Being You?)

Trust that all roads you take in life will lead you exactly where you need to be. And for those of you who are ready to take a profound shortcut, I hope you consider joining us for Chrysalis. You have my encouragement as you continue to find your way.

Fondly,
Christine
