WITH CHRISTINE HASSLER

What I learned from my concussion

Last week I promised you part two of the story about how I ended up in a wheelchair at the airport in New York. If you missed part one, you can catch up here.

What I initially thought was just a little fall turned out to be the catalyst to personal discoveries that I am so excited about. I tell you the full story in today’s vlog.

They key takeaway is how the seemingly “random” things that happen to us in life, I call them Expectation Hangovers, are never random.  There is always healing available and an “aha” to find if are willing to seek it out.

When I was experiencing the symptoms of my concussion, I intuitively knew that Spirit had a message for me and was getting my attention through my body.  So I set aside meditation and journaling time to go in and ask what the message was.

I was guided to reach out to a friend and go spend some time with her. Turns out she was also dealing with some health problems as a result of a concussion.  She referred me to her doctor, which led me to discoveries about my own history of childhood concussions that have contributed to long-term health concerns (I talk about this in more detail in the vlog).

Currently not only am I healing my most recent concussion, I am also getting to the bottom of some physical things that have always been a mystery in my life – despite the loving efforts of my parents and my own as an adult to heal them.

What is most remarkable is that without the health challenges I have had in my life, I doubt I would have been as motivated to do the emotional and spiritual work that I have done. My suffering has inspired my awakening. I am so grateful for it because it has made me determined and committed to healing on all levels. Honestly without it I do not know if I would have had the courage to go to all the dark, scary places inside that have got me to the Light.

Often what we suffer with or are challenged by is the very thing that puts us on a spiritual path #expectationhangover @christinhassler (Tweet this!)

Michael Beckwith says, “The pain pushes until vision pulls.” I needed my pain to push me until I began being pulled by the vision of the Divine.

Now that I have done so much transformational work and have maintained a level of health and wellness despite physical challenges for years, the answer to physiological issues showed up.

Many of you have had challenges and expectation hangovers that rocked your world.  As much as they are no fun to go through, you have my heartfelt encouragement and support to mine for the gold.

Do not ask: “Why is this happening?”

Instead, ask: “What am I learning? What is the message for me? What guidance is available to me?” And pray for helpful people and information. Journal. Mediation. Pay attention to and document your dreams because often that is how our Higher Self speaks to us.

See yourself as a wiling seeker not a victim. Approach all your expectation hangovers with the intention of discovery rather than fear. Do not allow worry to distract you from mining for the gold that is there.

And most importantly, have gratitude for all your challenges. See solutions in all your suffering. Whether it is a health issue, a broken heart, or a career crisis trust that within dark place is a doorway to the light @christinhassler (Tweet this!)

I am consistently in awe at how we are all guided in the most perfect way for our soul’s curriculum. Trust that everything happens for a reason, yet surrender the need to know “why” it happened.  Instead move into the curiosity of an explorer and allow yourself to be guided.  Trust that you will be led to the the Light.

Much love,

Christine
