WITH CHRISTINE HASSLER

Are you making creativity a priority?

Last week I gave my creative muse a tremendous gift: I took myself away to a beautiful place with no email, phone or distraction. My next book is due in two months and I really thought I could just “schedule” it into my daily flow, but what I have found is that creativity needs space. Our creative projects, those things that are important to our soul, need quality time.

Many times inspiration can happen spontaneously and it just flows out of us. Creative downloads are awesome. But creativity does not always come on demand. Sometimes it needs to be nourished and nurtured so it is imperative we make the time for it.

Creativity is a spiritual practice. It is how the Uni-verse expresses through each of us individually. Yet we often put creativity on the back burner and do not give it the time and attention it deserves!

I’ve vloged / blogged about the four quadrants of time management where I have shared how many of us focus on the wrong quadrant by spending most of our time on things that are urgent but not nearly as important (you can read/watch here). Emails are not nurturing your creativity. Errands are not supporting your authentic self-expression.

Perhaps there is a book you want to write, song you want to compose, screenplay you want to finish, painting you want to do, or project you want to start or complete. My question for you today is: What’s stopping you?!?!? If one of your excuses is that you are so busy and you don’t have the time, consider this your permission slip to put some white space on your calendar.

No more procrastinating on a project or putting your own self-expression on the bottom of your to-do list! Revamp your schedule so that you devote regular time to your priorities. Don’t your heartfelt desires deserve your devotion?

Seduce your creative muse . . . not only will you feel enlivening by tending to this side of you, the Uni-verse will be delighted by your creative indulgence.

With love,
Christine
