How to have a healthy body image

Do you have a healthy body image?  Do you criticize the way you look? Are you preoccupied by attempts to change your body? Have you ever struggled with an eating disorder?

These are heavy questions but they need to be addressed because the amount of people, especially women, who experience a tremendous amount of pain around their physical appearance is astounding – and deeply touches my heart.

The media and society at large do not make having a healthy body image easy, but going on a rant about this does not get us anywhere or help anyone heal.

What I’d rather do is shift the conversation, which is what this week’s podcast episode is all about.  Go here to listen.

Imagine this  . . .

What if we took all the mental energy people spend on thinking about, obsessing over and criticizing their bodies, and shifted it into thinking about how we could serve the world, change the world and solve big problems?!?! Imagine how different the world would be.

Please join me by tuning in as I share my own journey overcoming body image challenges and coach Anne on healing her bulimia with love.

If you are expending a lot of your own mental energy focusing on how you look rather than on how you feel and what you want to contribute, it is time to redirect it.

Any disorder, addiction or illness, is there to get our attention. It is an indicator that there are unresolved issues we are working hard to suppress. It’s a red flag that we are craving something and we are trying to feed ourselves through whatever the addiction and disorders are. These disorders reinforce the pain of separation. When we do things that are dangerous, even hurtful to our well-being, it’s a cry out for God, for remembrance, for the awareness that we are so loved, whole and complete exactly as we are.

This is an important topic so please share this episode with your friends: Criticism of your body is wasting precious energy. Learn how to stop judging and start loving. (Tweet This!)

p.p.s Gabriella Taylor, is not only one of my dearest friends, but she is also a powerful love + intimacy coach who takes women through The Journey of Extraordinary Love, which is a sacred developmental process where a woman evolves from engaging in dissatisfying adolescent relating behaviors with men to creating deeply satisfying adult relationships, especially when it comes to love and romance.

She is offering a free teleseminar event on April 27 at 1:05pm PST, and it’s called ‘Who Are You REALLY In Love?’.

You’ll learn about the first stage in Your Journey to Extraordinary Love which focuses on laying a firm foundation and getting your emotional and behavioral house in order. This class is designed to give you the skills, confidence and awareness you need to grow stronger in your ability to choose wisely in love.

I know for a fact that she loves nothing more than helping women grow stronger – in themselves, in their boundaries and in their ability to communicate truthfully – which results in their ability to stand strong in the truth of who they are and love fully. Sign up at GabriellaTaylor.com/live-call.
