Lights, Camera, Action!

Is your life story a five-star production?

You must have control of the authorship of your own destiny. The pen that writes your life story must be held in your own hand.” – Irene C. Kassorla

Hello! I want to thank everyone who contributed to the Chrysalis scholarship fund. I am incredibly moved by your generosity and your donations have made it possible for five women to attend the retreat!  Currently there are FIVE spaces left for Chrysalis AND thanks to this awesome community there are partial scholarships available.  For more details email jill@christinehassler.com.

And on to my UPdate…

For several years I have been intending to do some kind of television show that addresses quarterlife issues and personal growth.  Yesterday was a big step toward making that dream come as we recorded the first five episodes of my YouTube series “Twenty Something, Twenty Everything” (stay tuned for more details and excuse the heavy make-up, the lights were super bright!!!).

Two things were very present for me during our production day.  First was the awareness that we are the directors of our own destiny.  Often times we forget this and wait for someone else to come along and say “action” before we start producing the results we want in life.   If there is something you want to produce in your life, what are you waiting for?  If you want to write, start writing.  If you want to sing, start singing.  If you want to do something creative, start creating.   We often put our dreams on pause because we think we need an agent, publisher, employer or someone else to give us the green light.  But you are the director and producer of story of your life.  With enthusiasm call out “action” and take a step in the direction of your dreams.

Second, I was aware of how once we take action there is what happens and then there is the context we put it in.  During our production, we shot everything in front of a green screen giving us the ability to insert whatever background we choose in post-production.   This choice will influence the look and feel of each scene.  Similarly, in each scene of our life we have similar choices but we do not always see them.  We forget that we all have the magical power of perception, which is our own internal green screen!  There is what happens and then there is how we choose to see it.  We all have the ability to color the story our life.  If we choose to project positivity and acceptance on our own internal green screen, the scenes of our life will look and feel a lot difference than if we project judgment and negativity.  What are you projecting onto your green screen?  Could it be time to edit the background?

Remember you are the writer, director, producer and editor of the story of you.  Each day you are the one calling the shots in terms of how you react and respond on the set of your life.  You are responsible for when to say action and when to say cut.  You are able to edit the experience of your life based on how you perceive it.  Make it a 5 star experience.

That’s a wrap,

Christine
