How are your new year intentions going?

Over the past week I’ve heard from many of you regarding the 2015 intentions you set during the New Year ritual I offered you.  Some of you are celebrating the process you are making, while others have confessed that you have already gotten off track.

If you also find that your intentions or resolutions for 2015 are already slipping through your fingers a bit, do not give up!! And please do not beat yourself up!!

Today I have a simple and effective way for you to get back on track.

Before you watch today’s vlog, I have to tell you a little back-story. Right now I’m in Tulum facilitating my “New Year, New You” retreat but of course I still wanted to connect with you.  Jill and I thought it would be fun to tape the vlog during our excursions to the top of the Mayan ruins.  We did not exactly have the privacy we hoped for and had to retake several time.  Finally I realized that I value authenticity, not perfection and we just rolled with what has happening.  I hope you get both value and a good laugh today’s vlog  as we sure did. 🙂

Getting your mojo back when it comes to your new intentions is actually quite simple. It boils down to renegotiating your commitment to yourself and then re-committing.  Most of us get off track because we slip just a little bit but totally give up on ourselves. We start to beat ourselves up and tell ourselves things like, “I can’t, it’s too hard, I really don’t want it that much, etc.”  Then the downward spiral begins and we are back to our old patterns and attempt to make the same resolutions the next year.

Do not quit on yourself!!! Your intentions mean a great deal to you otherwise you would not have set them.

Do this instead:

  • Immediately stop beating yourself up. Stop making excuses for why you can’t. Stop coming up with reasons why it won’t happen. Like right now. Seriously, now!
  • Own breaking your word with yourself and forgive yourself for temporarily getting off track
  • Consider your “why” – remind yourself why your intentions matter and feel into how valuable they are to you
  • Renegotiate your commitment to yourself by choosing a new start date. For example, “I recommit to my exercise routine and will begin again tomorrow at 8am”
  • Write out your new commitment. Schedule the actions that support your intentions on your calendar.  Do not flake on appointments with yourself and your dreams!
  • Get yourself an accountability partner and share your new commitment.

Remember, change is not an overnight process.  Transformation happens overtime as we build new habits.  Break the toxic habit of giving up on yourself by staying in integrity with your commitments @christinhassler (tweet this!).

Spending the past three days on retreat with 18 women who are literally transforming before my very eyes is even more evidence for what I know to be true: ANYONE CAN CHANGE. EVERYONE IS WORTH OF THEIR DREAMS. Yes, even you.

You have my support and 100% unequivocal KNOWING that you are worthy and capable of your dreams.  And I am happy to be your accountability partner so head over the my blog and post your commitments there.

Mucho Amor from Tulum,

Christine
